Today was a typical day on the home front, our human's had to work today, and so it was another early morning, alarm clocks start going off at 3:45 am (who ever heard of dogs getting up this early) we pretend to be excited to see them off to work, and once the garage door shuts it is hit the sack for another few hours of blissful sleep.
Tonight we had some visitor's Rachel and Gracie, and Jackson, the kids kept puting post it notes on our backs, they thought it was pretty funny ha ha (not)...
We went for a walk this evening, it was getting a little cooler, but we have our fur coats ready for winter. We love walk time, it is when we have our human's undivided attention.
It is our time to chew on bones, so better sign off for now.

Today we all got our weekly baths, Barkley was first because he has to soak for 10 minutes due to his allergies. Shadow jumped in next she is always anxious to have her turn. Sweet Pea was next, she is always scared of everything, while Sweet Pea was getting bathed our Human Dad vaccumed Pugsley (didn't want to clog the drain), by our Human Mom's back is killing her bending over the tub. Pugsley finally got his bath all of us were waiting patiently so we could all run and play together.
We talked our Human's into taking us for a walk, we met a few neighbor dogs along the way, it was a nice evening.
We are excited our Human Dad gets to stay home with us tomorrow.

Well tonight we got a little left over mac and cheese (yummy) better than Alpo that's for sure..our human Mom took us for a walk, (we guilt her into to the walk every night after dinner) and on the way home we took her for a run, our human Dad was home watching politics (again) we vote for Scooby as President, he would be great at the white house, it has a big yard. Better sign off for now it is nap time..

The Pack

Let me intoduce myself my name is Brookie the Bassett Hound I am the Angel of my family. I was and still am the queen of the house for over 11 years, my Mom and Dad loved me more than any dog will ever be loved, no one can replace Bookie girl... that is what they called me.
Shadow is my sister, when she first arrived she drove me crazy yapping in my ear everytime we went out side, I would wait for the perfect moment and nab her, oh how she would make me howl.
Pugsley came to live with us when his Momma passed away, he had never really been treated like a dog, so he had some learning to do. Me and Shadow taught him how to play with toys and growl at each other, we all went for walks every evening ( he has some kind of sinus issues he snores and snorts all the time, sometimes we have to put our paws over our ears so we can hear when our humans are comming home).
I was the protector of the home so to protect my humans so I made sure when I layed in the hall no one could pass with out a big howl, everyone soon learned their place..
When I got sick and got to come to heaven where I can now run and play my Mom and Dad and Shadow was so sad ( I don't think Pugsley realized I was gone) the house was so empty and quiet (boy I filled a big place in their hearts and took up their time you know I was treated like the Queen nothing was too good for Bookie, I got the biggest hamburgers Dad could make and what ever bed I chose to sleep in, even Pugsleys, it was a little small but comfy)I decided I needed to step in (I couldn't stand the puppie dog eyes any longer so I guided them to Idaho where they adopted Sweet Pea (and the name fits) she is a much smaller Bassett Hound than me (she must have been the runt, I don't get it) but she is a beauty. She is tri color like myself. they think of her as the baby.
Then last Christmas a friend of my Dad's brought Barclay (better known as Big Boy, or Baba another Basset Hound (he is mostly black and white and he has very hansome eye brows that are brown) over to play because he had been naughty and ate his human's Wei game (what ever that is) when his human never came and got him, and so it goes another member to the pack, he is a big boy (or he was haha he was nutured quickly) no more dogs allowed in this pack...
